september project - invitation

The track should be 30 seconds long, and there should be a short moment of silence included (not at the beginning or at the end of the track). Please send your wav file to szrenp@yahoo.com via wetransfer before the end of September 2021.  Include the name/nickname, the title of the track, and a link (if you want).  The results will be presented on bandcamp and on youtube.

Machines and Odd Oddities

Image
Hello, we have two EFSPACM projects in June, "Machines" and "Odd Oddities". First: the invitation about the "Machines" project. It can be concrete music (recording a machine) or something resembling machines/about machines. You can use any instruments, your mouth, it can be spoken/sung poetry or just abstract sounds. Or simply the title can be about machines, and your music can sound any way you wish. Some noise is ok, classical music is ok, practically everything is ok (but don't record for example cursing when you hit your finger with a hammer, please). Please experiment (but you can also make it obvious - for example about the machine you are referring to). Thanks to Aide Aspicit for the idea! The other EFSPACM project of June, Odd Oddities, is the idea of Volker Störtebeker, who got a mandoline zither from the year 1905. So make music with Odd/Old Oddities. Plain and simple! Be it an old instrument or music inspired by old stuff. Please send the r...

Something with bikes?! - October project

Image
Please send your recording/musical composition/sound poem (together with the name or nickname, trackname, url or any additional info) to pszren@wp.pl before the end of October 2020 via WeTransfer (unless it's a small file, you can send it as an attachment), mp3 or wav file types recommendended.  Volker Störtebeker came up with the "Something with bikes?!" title, and he will also take care of publishing EFSPACM projects on bandcamp!  (picture from https://www.pexels.com/photo/bicycles-bikes-cyclist-dawn-289869 )

out of tune in July

This time I would like to invite you to send me something that sounds "out of tune". I know that the terms "tuned/out of tune" are quite subjective and culture based, but you know what I mean. I mean I don't mean a single thing by the "out of tune" term, but it could be something about changing the tuning, experimenting with pitches, trying to find some consonant and dissonant sounds, or playing a known scale and making something resembling a "mistake" - so we can use the "subjective and culture based" factors in our favour. Deadline: end of July 2020. Please send the sound file(s) to pszren@wp.pl - for big files use WeTransfer. I will add/mix the received files and post the result (with a simple video) on youtube.

sounds of knocking in August

Hello, please take part in the August project. This time we are asking you to record some sounds of knocking (on doors, boxes). The project is not so much about melodies (or even rythmic patterns), but rather about the pure sounds of knocking. This time Neal D. Retke will do the mixing, and DJ ANY WAY will prepare the video, so the project can become really really interesting! Deadline: the end of August 2020. Send the recording (avoid copyright problems) to pszren@wp.pl (when the file is big, use WeTransfer).

Kitchen Sounds

The composition is supposed to show various (perhaps not always typical) sounds from a kitchen. Participants are encouraged to send me a recording made in a kitchen. (Please don't record loud electric machines - somehow I feel such sounds would not fit here. Send only sounds that you have copyrights to - so don't record radio music or your neighbours talking :) ). I think the easiest way will be to send me the wav file via email - to pszren@wp.pl - and if the file is big, you can use wetransfer. Deadline: end of May 2020. I think the final result would be a recording (or many recordings) - with a simple video(s) - posted on youtube. So the first version will be just placing one recording after another, and in other version(s) I will juxtapose tracks in order to find some synergy. (The "Kitchen Sounds" project is a warm-up, so in next projects I will invite you not only to send a track, but also to do some mixing - I mean if you wish to do so). When you send me...

Invitation to various projects

Ensemble For Sound Poetry And Contemporary Music (EFSPACM) is a group creating various musical works. The basis of being part of the Ensemble is taking part in our projects. The results of our works will presented on youtube (and perhaps on CD's, on bandcamp and elsewhere). I am organizing the Ensemble to cooperate in the field of sound poetry and music composition. Our projects are meant to be non-commercial. I would like to organize projects a few times a year. Both traditional and experimental sounds (and ways of working with sounds) are welcome. Please join us with your positive energy and take part in our projects.
